Site Search Extension - Google AdWords Testing New Ad Extension

Finally, Google has introduce a new ad extension in AdWords i.e, Site Search Extension.
This latest ad extension is currently in beta version, but still, it seems to be a powerful weapon for all the brands out there looking to get the most out of AdWords.

Below is the search I performed for Godaddy.


 Whooaaa!! Bigrock is using the latest site search extension.
I entered my agency's domain name (Tuffnut.Co) and hit "Search Now" to find out where this ad takes me to.
Here's what I found.


Great, the ad actually is the website's internal search, and it took me to the advertiser's site search results.

One important thing I noticed, the site search extension was only visible when i searched for brand keywords, i.e, Godaddy, Bigrock & Ebay. For non brand searches, the results were without this ad extension.
Site search extension for AdWords are the same as site search extension for organic results, which Google introduced last year. (below is the example of organic site search extension)




Benefits of using Google's Site Search Ad Extension:

  • Increase in CTR > Better Quality Score > Better Ad Rank
  • Great for website with various categories & retailers.
